An important decision has come regarding ‘Bangla QR’.
From October 1, payments made via Bangla QR will be credited to merchants’ accounts instantly. The wait of one working day that existed until now will no longer be there.
Instant credit, finally.
Bangladesh Bank has asked MFS and PSP companies to do three more things by October 31.
- Place the ‘Bangla QR’ icon at the bottom center of the app’s home page, so it can be reached easily with a thumb.
- In addition to scanning, allow payment by uploading a QR code image.
- Ensure that all savings and current account customers, including cardholders, can pay by scanning through the mobile app.
The purpose is clear.
To popularize digital transactions, make the payment process user-friendly, and encourage merchants to accept digital payments.
It may seem like a small directive, but it will increase business cash flow, and cash flow means oxygen.
This one-day wait has been a big friction point for many small businesses.
When friction falls, trust rises. And when trust rises, we move one step closer to a cashless ecosystem.
Small step, big impact.
